If you want to end the problem, get a new fan with a sealed bearing. If you have recently added oil to it, I think you are supposed to add oil to the level of the hole with the fill plug in the left horizontal position, then turn the fan until the hole is at the bottom to drain out excess oil. You are supposed to do this every 60 hours, not many people do. I don't think you are supposed to use grease, as it may be to thick to "sling" properly. Perhaps someone who has done it will answer. I have 2 C's, the fan on both went south shortly after purchase. The first one did it after disassembly and cleaning and supposedly correctly reoiling. The second one after changing antifreeze and replacing the fan belt a few days after purchase -- coincidence. But I now don't trust them.
