IH did not offer disc brakes as an option on the M but the last few M's built did have disc brakes just before the changeover to Super M. Earlier M's could be fitted with aftermarket Lambert disc brakes. If you see a M with disc brakes it either has Lambert brakes of is a 1952 M. I don't believe Lambert brakes were offered for the 9 series.
