Anyone with basic mechanical skills and a good shop manual can do it. If you want to really do a bang-up job, and take the block out (I recommend it) then you will need a way to support the back half of the tractor and a means of lifting front end/engine parts off from it. Parts are up to you. This site offers kits, you can still get them from IH, (or New Holland or what ever) or you could shop around parts houses if you have one or more that you like and do business with. I have used part house parts a lot mostly because I have them do the head and block work for me and then they have access to kit parts like cam bearings, wrist pins etc. Your call. This site contains a lot of reference material in the forums if you spend some time to search them, but a shop manual is still a very good investment.
