Thanks for all the info on my post. It really helps when you are out of ideas aaand ready to throw your hands in the air! First of all I should have said the tractor is six volt with neg ground and neg side of coil to dist.. So that is correct, yes? And it is a six volt coil stamped on the coil. The carb I put on is a rebuild that NAPA ordered for me but now I am wondering if I should take it apart and measure the float heighth? I have held my hand over the top of the air inlet tube and it feels like pretty good suction when running. I will pull the carb to air cleaner hose and check choke bfore to make sure it is open. There is little response with the carb adjustments till I shut the main fuel adjust. almost shut, then motor dies. I had been assuming it wouldn"t be the carb because someone smarter than me about carbs rebuilt this for a living so it should work, right? Maybe not. But if everything on the points, coil, ect. spark end is correct those 16 Champions should be hot enough, shouldn,t they? Wher to go now? Will go check points bfore I go in to get new coil to make sure they are ok-they are only an hour or two running time old. I'll check back I am open to any Ideas and I will share my progress! Thanks Steve ND

Many times, as a small boy, I would cross the fence behind the house my grandparents lived in and walk down the turn row to where granddaddy would be cultivati
