Well, it's 60 miles to the nearest CIH dealer. The tune-up kit that I ordered had an off-set arm on the fixed part. The one in my tractor is straight. The new one didn't line up by 3/8s of an inch. I resurfaced the contact on on emory cloth and reset the gap to .020" per the manual. Actually, the old points didn't look that bad, not really pitted. Next chance I get, I'll try to find the right set for my distributor. I think first thing I'm gonna do is check each plug, make sure I'm getting spark, and then check compression. I need to get to the bottom of this! The old girl runs cool as a cucumber and the oil pressure never drops under 40/45.
