Without any details I'd agree with Rusty. It wouldn't hurt and would cost little to try it. Curious, though. What size is the cylinder on the splitter? Here's a chart from the IH Liftall Manual.(My favorite technical resource.)
You can fairly easily figure out pressures and speeds for any size cylinder. IH wasn't figuring on 2-way, but the beauty of that set-up, as Rusty points out, is that once the cylinder is filled the reservior capacity doesn't really matter anymore. (Except in unusual applications; sometime I'll tell the story of my sister's '64 Chevy dump truck.) The early Liftalls developed 450-500psi. Later models were 750-800psi and an improvement package was available to upgrade the earlier pumps. "These higher pressure units can be identified by a yellow figure 8 painted on the outside of the reservior." My '46 H gauges 750psi at a low idle using regular hydraulic oil. Good luck, and let us know how it comes out. I might want to try it myself. Wm

If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
