the 800 an d900 sereis planetrs are way ahead of the 400 series. the pump on them runs of pto shaft directly. they are very good planter and are very cheap to mantain and simple to change from one crop to another. I really like them. as far as skips doubles they just need to be set correctly and you won't have much of a problem. I have a12 row unit for sale if interested very good unit i just quit row crops.
