I don't know if you can even get "fire cratEr" pistons anymore, but if you can, you would get them from your friendly neighborhood CaseIH dealer. What do they do? They reduce the size of the combustion chamber when the piston is at TDC on the compression stroke because they're domed on top instead of flat. This forces the air/fuel mixture into a smaller space. In other words, it increases compression.
