The fact that it gets back into the range of the gauge indicates that it is not totally out of control. I would put a calibrated (known good) gauge on it that measures to 100 psi. If the pressure stays at 60 to 70 psi, I would replace tha gauge, ang go forward in life. If it was higher, I would pull the pan and repair the oil pressure relief valve. Extreme pressure is not good for the pump, or bearings.
