Before you do anything else try removing the plug at the bottom of the carb bowl, then letting the gas drain into a suitable container for a minute or two. You should get a continunous, solid stream of fuel and accumulate something on the order of 2 or 3 quarts a minute. However if after the initial surge as the bowl empties the gas just dribbles out, the problem is a restriction in the fuel supply. Look for a clogged carb inlet screen or sediment bulb, pinched fuel line, a piece of junk in the tank laying over the outlet opening, etc. However if you have good fuel flow out of the bowl drain you'll need to go back inside the carb and clean out whatever is clogging the main fuel circuit. Recommend poking a SOFT copper wire thru all the passages, orifices, etc. then blowing it out with air. Pay particular attention to the orifice and connecting passages at the bottom of the bowl behind the high speed adjustment screw !
