You may have a loose wheel to rim clamp or two causing that "Clunk" when you hit the brakes. Provided you got the "Balls really clean" and with no pits as well as the ramps they ride in and then applied a small amount of lithium grease to the balls, I would suspect either a brake disk is hanging up on the spline or a loose wheel.
