You do have the throttle lever pushed all the way down and the diesel selection lever pushed towards the front of the tractor to start. After a minute or two, raise the throttle lever to get some smoke from the exhaust. To get it to run on diesel let off of the throttle just so it quits smoking really bad and pull back on the diesel selection lever while adding some throttle. To shut off from the running diesel postion with a mag. let the motor idle for a bit (cool down) and then just push the throttle lever all the way down. Brad
