This occurred to me after you posted -- Since you are changing from a cut-out relay to a voltage regulator -- the info I gave you is incorrect if your tractor has a magneto. Obviously you don't connect the L terminal to the grounding switch on a magneto. I don't think the magneto equipped tractors ever used a voltage regulator. I can be corrected, but I think when IH began using voltage regulators, they also went to distributers. I think what you need is the cutout relay diagram to see where you were and the voltage regulator diagram, the operator's manual for your H should have both. There are differences.
