Should you find one (older tank) it probably has the same problem. My son bought a 674 and I liked it so well I got one. They both had the gas tank rust problem. taking it off and shaking it with a ball bearing or something seems a little out of question due to its size and shape. Our two finally got the fuel outlets configured to the point where I could take the fittings out and clean them where ever I was. Such as hose on the cross over, pinch it off with vise grips, carry pipe plugs in tool box. Whatever makes it easier. You will lose some gas, really hurts at any price. Ours finally quit stopping up so often. I did put car filters inline, near the fuel pump. This isn't any help, but it worked for us, just have to keep at it.
