All you need is to swap out the existing internal regulator with a "standard" (two terminal) Delco regulator. NAPA, your local starter/alternator shop, etc will have the regulator - figure about $10 or so.

Changing the regulator is straightforward. Simply remove the 3 bolts that hold the alternator front and rear castings together then pull the rear one off. The regulator is mounted on the inside of the rear casting.
