Here is another way to look at it. Take any new small car with a 4 cylinder engine and drive it for an hour on the highway. If you are getting 30 to 35 miles to the gallon it will use about 2 gallons a fuel per hour. I would guess the engine in the car at highway speed is putting out 30 to 40 horsepower at 2,500 RPM which is very close to what a 330 tractor engine is doing when loaded.
