If the land wheel is in front of the 3rd bottom, you have a plow that's convertable to 2-bottom. If the land wheel is outside the 3rd bottom, you have a plow that you can add a 4th bottom to.
I've got a #60 3-bottom plow with the land wheel outside the 3rd bottom and I'm in a similar situation. The question is, will the plow tip over forward if I was to remove the rear bottom and move the tail wheel up to the 2nd bottom. The frame pivot for the land axle is right even with the middle of the 2nd bottom.
Even fully raised, though, the land wheel's axle is still well ahead of the second bottom. I'm inclined to give it a try here, but I still have to decide which plow to try it on: The good looking plow that's all worn out, or the rusty plow that's in good shape...
