I think the salesman referred to this paint as "One Step" so they may have coined this phrase. Most people that do not paint a lot wouldn't have clue when you mention Single Stage paint. This PPG urthane paint didn't look very red when observed in the can, but was very red and glossy after being applied. Hal PS: This was the cheaper paint too at $29.00 for a quart and with the hardener and thinner was around $65.00 for everything.
