Distributor ID?

I found a distributor while I was digging through my Dad's old parts, since he's not around anymore I can't ask him what it belows too. I was hoping it would fit my M, but it's for a six cylinder. Is there a way I can ID it, maybe by the casting numbers? I'll probably try and sell it and save the money for a distributor for my M. Thanks,
