Thanks KB for the info. The 664 is basically a 656 Utility but with the 239 German Diesel. It has 4 of the same cylinders that an 826 has 6 of. I have an 826 and it has the advance feature like the 664. I've been (for years) starting both of these tractors by cranking them over about a second or two and then pulling the advance-about like you'd choke a gas motor. I'll try setting the advance first. Perhaps I've not set the throttle up enough. Thanks again for the good advice. By the way, by your handle KB-826, I figure you have an 826. I've said for years that in the history of man, no one will ever design a more user friendly tractor than the 826.
