As pointed out, the wear on the spline ends doesn't look horrible, however, the mating female splines may be worn more. If your tractor was jumping out of gear, I'll bet the shifter knob only moved about 1/2 inch or so between jumping out, and being as far in as it can move. If so this is an indication of worn teeth, and or a shift fork worn, or bent not inserting the splines into full engagement. If the load side wear on the splines (shown) is very flat, and not tapering off into a slight angle, and the same is true of the female splines, and the spline wear pattern is showing 3/16" of engagement, the only thing that would cause jumping out would be poor shaft alignment allowing the splines to "walk" out of engagement. Good luck, I hope this helps. We just don't have xray vision to see it when it is assembled and going down the road. What are the colored beads in the trans, wierd reflections from light? JimN
