What usually happens is as you have said, water forms from condensation. Some loads of gasoline are at best marginal on the water content side. After about 200 ppm of water in gasoline, it won't mix and falls out. You can buy an in line hydroscopic filter. You can also add a little ethanol if it is available where you live. Don't add more than 10% though. The ethanol increases the gasoline's ability to absorb the water.
