We just bought a 1990 model EZGO, with a two cycle gas engine. Took it to the Red Power roundup in Ohio a few weeks ago. This was it's maiden trip. I did not have time to paint it before the trip. Ours is all steel, no fiberglass, and it will not be a problem to paint. The newer ones do have a lot of figerglass and I assume appropriate preparations should be made before painting them but I see no problems getting 2150 to do just fine on either surface.

I did get to learn a little more than I wanted to know about golf carts. We had a problem at the roundup, the unit would not run in high speed except for once in a great while. Also almost caught the seat on fire from heat from the muffler. Got it home, jacked up the back end and found a bolt sheard off that held the back clutch in place on the differential. This allowed the clutch to move side to side, getting the drive belt way out of alignment and the differentaial clutch would not work properly, thus not allowing it to go into high speed. Bought a left handed drill bit set, and got the broken off stud out. Put a new belt and stud in. Also talked to EZGO, they suggested changing the muffler, as they tend to load up with oil over time and get quite hot. The muffler was almost $130. The belt was about $25 and the bolt was less than three bucks with the proper special washer. I have ran the you know what out of it a few times since the repairs, and so far, so good. I do hope to get the few dents it has fixed and the sheetmetal painted sometime before next summer. It will definately be IH 2150 Red and will leave the canopy white.

Wife went to pick up the muffler and other small parts one day when I had to work. She came home with a nice set of wheel covers, too. LOTS of extras to buy for those golf carts, if one so desires.
