Also, in the sugar beet growing areas, lots of the 350 tractors had the larger size, 2.75 inch axle. For pulling beet harvesters, and beet topper savers. They were an option I believe. In our Wyoming and Montana areas anyway ... Our LP gas 350 has the 2.5 inch long rear axle, and the gasoline 350 of ours has the 2.75 rear axle. The 2.75 center hub bolts take the larger wrench too, than the 2.5. Simple to slide in and out on these axles. I like the larger one.
