The nut holders are usually delt with by akward efforts to ger behind the panel to hold them. If not twisted off, using a piece of 1/4" masonite with a 5/8" hole in it to protect the tin, weld a 1/2" (wrench size) nut to the top of the round head screw. The heat of arc welding the nut in place will likely free up the threads. If twisted off, they are easier to fix. Remove one side of the sheet metal retainer and replace the nut, then reshape the flap and braze it in place. (be careful not to distort the metal with heat on the surface tin. Use permatex brand anti-seize compound on the new threads to prevent further grief.
