The serial listing gives the beginning number for each year. The serial of the first MD was 26145, so the 19xxxx means it was built in 1949, as you say. The X20 means it originally had a cotton harvester mounted on it. I believe a diesel cotton harvester tractor is somewhat rare. Not familiar with those tractors. They were set up to run backwards, and came in high and low clearances, I think. The high clearance had drop axles on the rear and a large single front wheel. That one may have been converted back to a normal looking tractor. The above will probably be corrected by people familiar with cotton harvesters. BUT, if you are not familiar with tractors, walk away from that one. It will cost an arm, leg, and foot to restore.
