There are several boosters found on IHC trucks. They are touchy safety related devices. Without training, and a manual, they become hazzardous to you and others. Your local library may have the manual! The check valve is necessary. It is needed because brakes might be needed if the engine dies on a big hill with a load! I'm not being rude, a vehicle that will not run is safer than one which will not stop. Be safe, JimN
