Mike, Ok , Now I understand that you want to build a show tractor! A Loader is a ....front-end Loader. A bucket assembly like device on the front of a Back-hoe tractor. Like old and Ron both said the wide front-endis some what desireable. Personally I prefer it to the narrow ones,I tende to think that $500 is a more closer ave, depending on wear/tear/use/abuse. The older Factory ones haave the steering arms in front of the axle like the tractor in the pic. Now Get on Amazon or go to Barnes & Noble, or even the book/magaazine dept at Tractor Supply get.... Guy Fays, Faarmall Letter Series book! It has a lot of good Info, Tips, what to look for, Decal placement and such, ave cost is $24 there about. This Book is specific to Farmall tractors A through SMTA, and Standards , or "Wheatland" models too.You will get a broad base of info on all IH tractors in the Series. It will help you immensely in your project. When you have ?s fire away here for there is no better place to get Info than this site. Git-er-Dun! Later, John A.
