Please accept this post as encouraging and not a flame of any kind. Powder coating and top coating with a clear coat will produce that wet look effect. Mike, every person must do what drives them. My opinion is that an H that has had the castings polished and bolt heads chromed with wet look paint, is too overdone to be worked, or used to pull a float in a parade. I would kindly suggest that the tractor come before the paint. Once you have it in your hands, and replace the steering bolster bearings (or some such needed repair) you might feel a significant relationship with originality and function. Then, when it is in fine operating condition, worry about the paint prep and polish. The factory basically assembled the tractor without tires and sprayed everything red. It was very crude, but effective. Even the belts, clamps, and hoses were red. As in Rocky Horror Picture Show: Anticippppppation should focus on learning about the technology of machines, not pigment. JimN
