Sorry Clif I have not got back to you. Its hard to say sometimes I chase shorts for hours. Make sure the point spring is away from the metal on the points. Make sure the wire that hooks to the point hold down is not near a ground. Start taking things off starting with the fron cover and put your hand over the nub on the coil and turn the mag back wards and start feeling for the power when you feell a small jolt you know that you found what ever you just unhooked was the short. I had a bad set of points yesterday I unhooked them and I got power you see. JON
