Are you using the tractor in the winter in a northern climate? I use straight 30 detergent in all our units (8 running at this time) since they are just summer-fall used machines. Be sure to change the filter each time you change the oil and dig out ALL the old filter gasket(s) before installing the new gasket. Ask your dentist for a couple old picks next time you visit. At the prices they charge you should be able to get an old tool for nothing. It never hurts to ask! Just this morning I scored a free bag of floor dry from my favorite parts supplier; the bag had split during handling and they could not sell it so the boss gave it to me. I think I will be back in the future.
