Thanks Hal, your input has helped me a lot with this mower. I still owe you pictures of my repaired final-drive bracket.
I managed to get the Prindle out, it just took a firm blow to get it broke loose. Unfortunatly, after disassembly, I found that the lower bearing is shot. It fell apart, when I removed the spindle. At least the bearing raceways in the housing look great.
