Likely not as good as new, but it should last a while. The other way is to take it to a machine shop that knows what they are doing and have the groove filled. Brazing won't last and the heat is likely to mess up the temper in the shaft. But there are procedures that can be used that will last and won't destroy the temper. I use sleeves.
