Hey Mike, been following along with your crisis. But i hope you fare better with your running tractor than i did. Bought a running 1984 super A for $500 . started easily, clean oil, clean antifreeze, gears worked , hydraulics worked, steering loose, clutch not too good. Them the problems started to show up the farther i went. seals gone in both final drives, tranny, bearings bad in various places. gas tank developed a leak. tires dry rotted..... since i was just going to use the tractor and not bring it back to show quality i didn't get into the engine. worst mistake. after getting it all prettied up and painted , i went to change the oil and presto antifreeze in the very bottom of the pan. never did mix with the oil just sat on top of the drain plug. so guess what i am doing now.Yep overhauling the engine. going to be a new tractor when i get threw. with a couple grand or more in it. But i'm happy for ya and it wont be long you will have another one. I'm up to 3 now in 2 years. actually 5 farmalls, but 2 are just junkers for spare parts.
