Hi Jimer, re steel line leaking at nut.. possibly a minute crack at the flare where the nut tightens on the tubing. Sometimes it is not easy to replace the steel lines with hydraulic hose. Make sure you get the proper fittings as there are tubing sizes and pipe sizes. Re chaffing of hydraulic hose.. get a length of auto heater hose, split it with a knife and put it over the hydraulic hose where it is being chaffed and secure with Ty-wraps or hose clamps.
