Had a bad lightning storm here at our ranch a couple years back. Took out my computer, the computer in my mom's house, sattelite TV boxes in all three houses on the place, and some other stuff I can't remember. Insurance paid to replace everything with new. We're still on dial up. Slow and aggravating, but not many other options here I don't think. We can't even get cell phone service where our place is so anything that comes from a signal from a tower someplace is out. Thought about sattelite, but every time we get a decent rainstorm(been awhile now!) our tv reception is lost, and I'd hate to have that happen on the 'puter as well. Guess dial up's better than nothing!
