now on to your question. as an example around here you can buy a farmall h for around $600 to $700. the tractor will be ok to use but normally needs some work. in a worse case scenario it will need an overhaul,clutch and tires somewhere around the neighborhood of $1700. so now i have $2400 invested in something that will probably last my lifetime. so now when i look at want ads on ytmag, ebay and someone wants $2500 or more for an h i wouldn't even bother to look.
the fact of the matter is i couldn't lay out cash all at once. but i can buy something ($600)and contribute over time to reach that ($2400) with the same result only with one attribute, I KNOW WHAT I HAVE. (the burn me rule)
the one thing i have learned is patients. after 15 years i finally got my smtad. ($900) it runs but needs work but i don't care. i may spend up to $5000 but it isn't all up front and i know what i have after it is done and it will only have one function in life and that is to farm like it was intended to. (actually quite fuel efficient)
i hope you get your money out of your tractor.
myself and circle counterparts are not going to be interested and i think that is why your having trouble getting what you want out of it. there may be other reasons also but in my little world that is our reasons and i would never call and laugh.
