Your comments about the "flipper" in the intake manifold are very interesting. The MD I am restoring is harder to start on gas than it should be and I'm thinking that may be part of the problem. My question is what actually activates that shaft? mine has some electrical terminals on the front cover that the hot lead to the coil is attached if I remember correctly. My manual shows all the parts but is not clear on what operates the shaft. Sorry for the long post and thanks for any info!
