Except for Craftsman hand tools, Sears sells "throw-away" products. Same is true for Home Depot, Lowes and Wally-World. Buy a name brand pressure washer which costs 50% more than a Craftsman brand and you can get parts for years and years. I have a Sears cordless drill. The battery went dead. The new battery is $34, while a whole new Sears cordless drill with TWO batteries is $46. Throw away a perfectly good drill, I guess...... If Sears had made tractors in 1939, you would not be able to get parts for them today. But, the purchase price would have been a lot less than what a comparable Farmall sold for in '39. mike
