The temp guage on F-20 (or any thermosiphon cooling system) hooked up in the lower water inlet doesn't do much unless the coolant is too low and it quits circulating. Never saw the one on our C come off cold except once when the water got too low and quit circulating, thenit got hot down there too. Theinlet coolant is most always cool, unkless you have shutters on the radiator and close them up. By the way, when the C got hot it was hot enough to burn the gasket on the valve cover! Iwould lioke to put a guage onmy cub, but I want to put it in the outlet from engine to radiator.
