The plate on the side is where the rev. shift fork is and when you pull the top cover off the shift rod comes with the cover and the shift fork will fall over and the littel woodworf key will more then likely fall out of the shaft so those are the things that ya want to catch. It would be a real good idea to get a I T manual so you can read and look . Yes the covers do ware and i have never bought a cover yet i have then bored out and a bushing pressed i in the shifter hole and the rev. shifter done at the same time but hey i am cheap . Parts that you will need are probabley some rollers a spring a shifter shaft couple woodworf keys a roll pin maybe a couple as i call them cub cadet tierod ends for the shift linkage up on top a couple headed pins maybe a shifter cam and maybe a bushing . Since i can not look for myself to see what all you do need also a spring loaded park loc as like i said before now is the time.
