Murph is right. I jump 'em just like he says with but one little twist. To minimize the high current drain on the 12 v battery while connected, I hit my starter switch so that the tired 6v battery is trying to crank the tractor. I THEN (while cranking) connect my 12v+ to a good ground WELL AWAY from gas & batteries while cranking. Will get lotsa sparks but you don't put a severe discharge on the 12v battery nor do you tend to warp the plates of the 6v battery with extreme high charge rates. I also always wear safety glasses. They usually jump right to life. Do not crank long! Over 30 seconds @ 12v on a 6v starter can be a long time.
