As the others have said but also check your lights. If they work but the brakes don't look where the brakes ground on the trailor and you will probably find that the water is causeing you to loose ground there. If the lights don't work either then you have the ground problem they are talking about. When I wire up a triaolr I run one wire in the plug right to the ground side of the battery and to a number of points on the trailor so I'm less likely to loose a ground
