Yes you can make a 263 into a 291 as there is a special kit for this and it also requies boring of the block . the stock 291 sleeves and pistons can not be used as the flange on a 291 sleeves are samller the coverson kit has a wider flang . I have done a bunch of change overs . Back when this was first offered there was a complet kit that had a recurve kit for the dist. to cut back total advance from the 263 settings to the 291 set as total advance on a 291 engine should not exceed 20 degrees and if ya can keep it at 18 it is better then along with that ya goota run the 93 octain gas . A 263 in a 560 ya can get away with the 89 if ya want it to run correctly but when ya get to the 06 seires ya got to upgrade the gas as they were built for the 93 at the lowest to be run in them . At the time they were built reg. gas at the pump was 95 octain . Now here we are in todays world and they call 93 hightest that would make and old 292 cheve ping.
