One thing to look for/at is the float and make sure it has no dents, isn't bent and the 2 floats sit even with each other. You also need a can of good carb cleaner something like beemans etc and soak the carb for 24 or so hours and then blow it out and also use some spray carb cleaner to make sure all passages are open and free of dirt/rust. Also another good thing to do is use a small wire or as I do a tourch tip cleaner to clean out the small passages in the carb. When you put it back on you may have to adjust the govanor to match the carb again and be careful to get the gov. to carb lined up right, or you will have problems
