Like about everthing else about early IH you get contradictary information on early cotton pickers. The Smithsonian Museum has a 1943 picker that they claim was the first year of production, they did say only 30 were built that year though which sorta supports the 1949 Memphis works pickers being first full fledged production pickers and only experimental pickers being built before then. I am computer illiterate and do not know how to post links but a Google search for "IH cotton pickers" should bring up link.
