The only adjustment is for the pedal free play. That is done individually on each side with the yoke that is on a threaded rod which works the brakes. If your brakes are weak, the lining on the bands is probably worn out or the linings have oil on them due to leaking shaft seals on the differential/pinion shafts. The brake drums are on the pinion shaft. To get at the brake bands, etc and repair this, you have to remove the final drives from the transmission housing which gives access to the brake mechanism, including the drums and bands. If the linings are not worn too bad, you may be able to get by with just cleaning them up with brake cleaner. If they are soaked with transmission oil, you will need to replace the shaft seal at the transmission housing and the shaft seal behind the brake drum where the shaft goes into the final drive.
