We need to know if it is missing, or just smoothely getting weaker. If it is smoothely weeker I believe timing and coil are less likely (more likely a fuel mixture issue, try turning out the high speed jet 1/4 turn at a time, If choking it helps for a second or two it probably is fuel related, durty carb, or delivery). If irratic and rough, it may be distributor shaft wear, or as noted a deteriorating coil. If the coil has no ballast resistor, or is specifically for a no resistor 12v system it could be the problem. If it is so hot that you would burn your fingers when it begins to slow down I recommend a new coil, and a ballast resistor in line with it. See Bob M's fine wiring diagrams for resistor application.
