Pulling stumps is ok if they are under 6 inches in diameter and come easily. Harder stumps are dangerous to pull (or Jerk) out. My method reduces danger and works well. Use a welded iron "triangle" frame about 4 feet long on all three legs made from 6" heavy wall pipe. Put a pair of 1" diameter bolts welded on one point of the triangle to keep a chain from going to the side. Lean the Frame toward the stump, and use the tractor as an anchor to pull using a chain ratchet come along to pull up on the stump. It is less exciting, but far more safe and reduces stress on your tractor. JimN
