I agree with Brownie, Milling is best for flatness and gasket performance. Indexing the operation off of the existing good surfaces will assure surface alignment at the cylinder head. If more than one gasket thickness is removed to clean it up, use a metal spacer (stainless) to preserve true mating of the parts. Good luck,JimN
